4-H youth working hard to promote Show & Sale
There is a brand new, easy and convenient way to check out the annual 4-H Show and Sale by visiting CranbrookandDistrict4H.com.
4-H’ers from the South Country Crafts & Critters, Cranbrook Multi, and Wasa & District 4-H Clubs have been working hard to create a webpage that will provide easy access to all information pertaining to the annual 4-H Show and Sale on the first Sunday of June.
The site will feature pages on the 4-H producers, their livestock, current market information, available cuts provided by local butchers and will include updated information on 4-H events.
Although the Show & Sale is the most recognizable 4-H event of the year and showcases the livestock, it isn’t the sale itself that is so important but the learning process for the 4-H producers along the way.
4-H producers range from ages nine to 21. Each 4-H producer has put hours of hard work into their projects. Having livestock in 4-H includes early morning feedings, hands on grooming and training their animal as well as record keeping and project management. Each 4-H member attends and actively run group meetings. They participate in public speaking events as well as volunteer in their communities. The 4-H motto is ‘Learn to do by Doing,’ and they definitely do that.
Through raising a project in 4-H, youth learn leadership skills, responsibility, teamwork and social skills. By supporting your local 4-H youth you are investing in our future citizens and community leaders. Through 4-H, youth are able to develop valuable life skills early.
The Cranbrook & District 4-H will be holding their annual Show & Sale, on Sunday, June 4, at the Wycliffe Exhibition Grounds. Showing starts at 10 a.m. Sale starts at 4 p.m. Both are family events.
