Baxter family extends thank you

On behalf of the Baxter family, a deep and sincere thank you is extended to all involved in the search earlier this week of Louise who went missing during a hike in Jumbo Pass. Louise was safely reunited with her family Wednesday evening. At this time, the Baxter’s are asking for privacy as they recover from this ordeal.

The family would like to acknowledge the efforts of both the Kimberley and Columbia Valley RCMP detachments and Search and Rescue teams based out of Kimberley, Columbia Valley, Golden, Creston, Kaslo and Cranbrook.

Additionally, a thank you is extended to Panorama Ski Resort which fed and housed the Baxter family as well as Search and Rescue team members over the three day period.

Area businesses and organizations such as R.K. Heliski, Bighorn Helicopters and Coldstream Helicopters who provided services to aid in the search, staff of the BC Ambulance Service – Invermere and the Invermere and District Hospital, volunteers and support from Paper Excellence, Skookumchuck Pulp Mill and the East Kootenay Regional Hospital as well as those from the local community who offered to help with the search are also recipients of the family’s heartfelt thank you.
