Blind golf championships in region next year

As President of the Western Canadian Blind Golf Association (WCBGA) and Vice-President of Blind Golf Canada (BGC), it gives me great pleasure in announcing the opportunity for us to host all our 2019 Championships here in the heart of the Kootenays!

Yes, there is such a thing as blind golf, and yes, those with partial or total blindness can golf!  You and many others can witness and experience what blind golf is all about in 2019.

Here are the events that will be hosted in 2019:

  • 2019 Western Canadian Blind Golf Championships at Bootleg Gap Golf-Kimberley (July 8-10);
  • 2019 ISPS HANDA Canadian Blind Golf Championships at St. Eugene Golf Resort and Casino, ?aqam/Cranbrook (July 11-July 13).

These events will showcase many golfers from Canada, west coast to east coast. It will also bring in many golfers from the USA and from overseas to our beautiful province.

Not only will our participants play these two amazing golf courses in Cranbrook and Kimberley.  We are also encouraging all participants to plan and come out early to experience all that the Kootenays has to offer.

With other many great golf courses/resorts, our participants are encouraged to plan a great golf vacation and holiday around our championships in 2019.

As Chairman and host, I have the exciting opportunity and challenge of promoting our events in the Kootenays, looking for volunteers in the communities to assist at our events, as well as seeking local and corporate sponsorship to cover event costs and make our events successful.

On behalf of our visiting participants, we hope we can count on your support in 2019.

All sponsors will be recognized and promoted at all our events and will have the opportunity to participate and witness what blind golf is all about.

More information about blind golf, volunteering, sponsorship support can be found at: www.vibebc.com . Select the “BLIND GOLF” tab, and then select “Blind golf Events in B.C.” All information can be found there.
