Clovechok welcomes start to campaign

Doug Clovechok, BC Liberal candidate for the Columbia River-Revelstoke riding, and his team are ready for the critically important 2017 provincial election campaign, having spent the past week sharing their message of a strong B.C. and a bright future for the province and the riding, a campaign press release outlined.

“I have spent the past four years working to help people from Kimberley to Revelstoke on issues that matter to them, and build stronger communities for our families,” Clovechok stated. “Since May, my wife Susan and I have logged over 25,000 kilometres of travel across the riding to share the BC Liberals’ plan to put British Columbians first by controlling government spending, keeping taxes low, and creating jobs through a strong, diverse economy so we can invest in the things that matter to British Columbians, and people here in Columbia River-Revelstoke.”

He added the party’s plan is “a responsible one” and “it’s costed; we can afford it so no one’s taxes have to increase.

“With four campaign offices now open in Kimberley, Invermere, Golden and Revelstoke, and dozens of volunteers working along side of us, I am inspired and thankful to have met so many who are ready for this crucial election that will determine the future of our region,” Clovechok continued. “As the campaign shifts into gear, I’m thinking a lot about the future. B.C. is first in Canada for economic growth and job creation, but there is a lot more work to do in Columbia River-Revelstoke, so everyone can find a good-paying, family supporting job.

“We need a BC Liberal government to keep our economy strong and growing, with a government MLA inside of it who can effectively represent you to make sure your voice and concerns are heard in Victoria. We will elect a B.C. government on May 9, I am respectfully asking that you consider hiring me as your next MLA,” Clovechok concluded in the media release.

The Columbia River-Revelstoke riding has an opening for a new MLA as three-term BC NDP MLA Norm Macdonald steps away from politics.

District of Invermere Mayor Gerry Taft is the BC NDP candidate for the riding, while Samson Boyer is the Green Party candidate.
