The Cops for Kids Ride is rolling into Cranbrook with a fun and unique twist!

On Wednesday, September 10, join us at the Tamarack Centre for an exciting Jail & Bail fundraiser as part of the 10-day Cops for Kids ride across southeastern B.C. This annual event raises funds and awareness to support local children in medical, physical, or traumatic crisis.

Here’s your chance to get in on the action: we’re calling on the community to nominate friends, colleagues, or even yourself to be “arrested” for a good cause! The fun kicks off as unsuspecting participants are “locked up” at the Tamarack Centre, where they’ll face our playful “kangaroo court.”

Once convicted, they’ll need to rally support and raise their “bail” through pledges to support Cops for Kids.

How It Works:

• Nominate a Jailbird – Submit your nominations and get your chosen “offender” ready for a good-natured arrest.
• Arrest and Trial – Watch as your nominees are humorously put on trial and “sentenced” to spend time in the Tamarack Centre jail.
• Raise the Bail – Help your jailbird raise their bail money through pledges, contributing to a fantastic cause.

All proceeds from this event will go directly to supporting local children facing challenging circumstances. Your participation will not only be a blast but also make a significant difference in a child’s journey to wellness.

The Cops for Kids Ride, starting in Kelowna, will journey through the South Okanagan and Kootenays before arriving in Cranbrook.

After this, the team will cycle back through Golden, Salmon Arm, and Kamloops, returning to Kelowna on September 15.

This ride symbolizes the dedication of riders who volunteer year-round, training and fundraising to support local families in need.

Join us at the RCMP detachment at 4 p.m. on September 11 to meet the team, support the riders, and enjoy the Jail & Bail event. It’s a great opportunity to show your community spirit and have some fun while contributing to a noble cause.
