COs charge man for over-fishing at Premier

A B.C. Conservation Officer Service (BCCOS) patrol of Premier Lake near Skookumchuck earlier this summer resulted in charges under the Fisheries Act and Wildlife Act.

An angler from Alberta was found with three rainbow trout in his possession while angling. Another 19 rainbow trout were located in his campsite. The angler was charged for being 18 fish over the limit and for failing to produce an angling licence, the BCCOS reported on its Facebook page.

Total fines issued were over $1,000.

Poaching and other environmental violations can be reported 24/7 to the COS hotline – 1-877-952-7277 (RAPP).
