Doug Clovechok officially re-applies to be MLA

Doug Clovechok officially re-applied to be the MLA for Columbia River-Revelstoke over the weekend, when he delivered his completed nomination package to the Elections B.C. District Office in Radium Hot Springs.

“When the people of Columbia-River Revelstoke trusted me with their votes in 2017, I promised them two things, I would work my tail off for them and I would never lie to them,” said Clovechok. “I’m proud of how we have worked together the past three years to bring our concerns to the provincial government in Victoria and get them to act to address them.”

“We have gotten a lot of important things done, like: improving wildfire prevention in Kimberley, expanding the Health Connections bus from Golden and Invermere to run more frequently, building urgently needed safety improvements to the Three Valley Gap section of Highway 1, and making sure the government visited our community to listen to us on wildlife management issues.

“If you trust me with your vote again, I will continue to make real progress on the issues that matter to you in Victoria. I will make sure our families and communities are helped in recovering from the impacts of COIVD-19 by a BC Liberal government that provides strong social services, that supports our small businesses and important industries like tourism and forestry,” he stated.

“We are in a global pandemic and deep economic crisis that is threatening the livelihoods of our families, friends, and neighbours. Now, more than ever, we need strong, disciplined, and competent leadership. It’s a time for action, not promises. I hope the people of Columbia River-Revelstoke will consider my track record of getting things done for them when they decide whether or not to re- hire me on October 24.”
