EKISC hosting community weed pulls and park event
The East Kootenay Invasive Species Council (EKISC) is hosting more community weed pulls in August, following last Thursday’s weed pull on Old Coach Trail at Radium Hot Springs.
The next community weed pull is August 11 at Invermere’s Ray Brydon Park from 3 to 7 p.m.
Join EKISC and Wildsight for a community weed pull and volunteer BBQ event.
Then on August 24, Join EKISC in Jaffray for a community weed pull, to learn about the negative impacts of invasives and give back to the community! Show up at Baynes Lake Community Centre between 4 and 7 p.m. and you will be rewarded with a BBQ, cold drinks and snacks.
EKISC is also hosting Bonkers for Botany on August 6 between 3 and 7 p.m. at Moyie Provincial Park.
Join EKISC and BC Parks for an Invasive Plant Walk and Talk from 3 to 4 p.m., then grab the kids and join in at the amphitheater for the famous Mr. Zebra Mussel Play from 6 – 7pm.
EKISC will be at the park all day. Find them and learn about the negative impacts of invasive species, learn about species threatening us in the East Kootenay and grab some resources to learn about what you can do to help.
