EKTFC up and running again April 5

The East Kootenay Track & Field Club’s (EKTFC) first practices are Tuesday, April 5 and Thursday, April 7 at the College of the Rockies, Cranbrook from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Last year we had 37 registered athletes, 15 came from Kimberley.

This year is also Summer Games trials. Fourteen to 15-years-olds will compete and represent Zone 1 and go to Prince George, July 22-24.

To qualify to go to the BC Summer Games in Prince George, one must go to BC Summer Games Zone 1 selection Meet at Trail on May 7. You must finish in the top two in each event to qualify.

I am happy to announce that BC Athletics has nominated me as Zone 1 representative.

I will be overlooking, registering qualified athletes. I will also be attending the Prince George Summer games.

We will be following all COVID-19 rules.

Steven Royer,

East Kootenay Track & Field Club
