Friday Highways Report for the East Kootenay

Friday Highways Report for the East Kootenay is a snapshot to give the travelling public a glimpse of what they may be heading into or out of this weekend.

At time of publication (2:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 28), DriveBC reports winter driving conditions throughout the region. DriveBC highway cameras show the region’s highways to be mostly clear and dry. However, conditions can change rapidly. Be prepared for anything.

Highway 43

Sparwood to Elkford

Highway 3

Sparwood to B.C. and Alberta Border

Bridge construction at Lizard Creek Bridge (three km west of Fernie). Work is in winter shutdown – temporary detour in effect seven days a week with no expected delays. Slow down and obey all traffic signs.

Highway 93

Radium Hot Springs to Alberta Border

Construction work at West Boundary of Kootenay National Park (one km north of Radium Hot Springs). Culvert liner installation near Radium Hot Pools. 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through March 31. Expect speed reductions to 50 km/h in work zone. No work on long weekends or statutory holidays.

Montana border to Highway 3
