KAST welcomes new CEO and Executive Director
The Board of Directors at KAST (Kootenay Association for Science & Technology) is delighted to announce the appointment of Priya Biswas as the new Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director, effective immediately.
A collaborative and empowering leader, Priya brings over 16 years of experience in digital transformation, innovation leadership, and community development to her new role.
With a proven track record at organizations like GE Digital and ATB Financial, Priya has led cross-functional teams, spearheaded large-scale digital initiatives, and cultivated inclusive technology communities. Her dedication to fostering innovation and inclusive economic growth aligns seamlessly with KAST’s mission to drive opportunity and job creation through science, technology, and innovation.

In addition to her corporate leadership experience, Priya is the founder of a successful consulting practice, where she has expanded the local tech community and fostered strategic partnerships.
She holds an MBA from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pune, India. Since relocating from Edmonton to the Kootenays in 2023, Priya has developed a deep appreciation for the region and a steadfast commitment to fostering inclusive, innovation-driven communities. She steps into this role to lead KAST with renewed energy, a clear strategic vision, and a deep commitment to both people and place.
