KIJHL announces Week 2 Team of the Week
The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) has announced its Team of the Week selections for the period ending Sept. 28.
Forwards:

Peter Godley – Columbia Valley Rockies
After averaging .98 points per game as a rookie last season, Godley is having a hot start averaging 2.25 points per game in his first four games. Godley was a factor in the Rockies winning both their weekend games as he scored five goals and added two assists and was plus-5. In a 9-7 win over the Kimberley Dynamiters, Godley scored two goals and added an assist. His goal started four straight for the Rockies en route to their comeback win. In their 5-4 win over the Creston Valley Thunder Cats, Godley had four points and his third goal won the game.
Luke Davies – Kimberley Dynamiters
Davies had four goals and six points in two games, while being plus-3, to help the Dynamiters earn a split. In their 9-7 loss to the Rockies, Davies had a goal and an assist. In their 7-1 win over the Osoyoos Coyotes, the second-year forward from Calgary netted a hat-trick, including the winner, and had four points.
Brady Magarrell – Beaver Valley Nitehawks
Magarrell had a monster weekend offensively – eight points – as he scored three goals and collected five assists and was plus-six in two games. He was involved in five of the Nitehawks’ seven goals in their 7-3 win over the Williams Lake Mustangs. Then he had two goals and an assist in their 6-4 loss to the Spokane Braves.
Defence:

Lukas Masters – Columbia Valley Rockies
Masters collected a goal and three assists and was plus-3 in two games. In a 9-7 win over the Dynamiters, Masters scored his first of the season to tie the game at 7-7 with just over five minutes left. Nearly two minutes later, Masters set up Jack Miller’s winning goal. In a 5-4 victory against the Thunder Cats, Masters collected two assists. The first came on the opening goal by Godley, then Johnny Lozeman’s goal to give them a 3-0 lead.
Logan Findlay – Creston Valley Thunder Cats
Findlay recorded a goal and five assists and was plus-3 in two games. In their 7-5 win over the Coyotes, Findlay was a force as he was involved in five of their goals. In a 5-4 loss to the Rockies, Findlay had two assists and was a factor in erasing a 3-0 deficit.
Goalie:
Jaxson Dikur – Williams Lake Mustangs
The Williams Lake product was excellent between the pipes for the Mustangs stopping 66 of 69 shots in 101 minutes of action. He earned a 37-save shutout in a 1-0 shootout loss against the Nelson Leafs. Dikur, who played three games for the WHL’s Seattle Thunderbirds last season, made his season debut on Sept. 26 against the Nitehawks and stopped 29 of 32 shots in 36 minutes of action. Dikur has a 1.78 goals against average and a .957 save percentage.
