Look at alternate ways to celebrate Halloween

By Dr. Albert De Villiers

Interior Health has seen a recent increase in cases as we move through our second wave of COVID-19.

This rise in cases is reflected across B.C. and it is important we all do our part to reduce the risk of further exposures in our communities.

I join with Dr. Bonnie Henry in encouraging those of you who wish to celebrate Halloween to do so outdoors, in small groups and safely.

The Provincial Health Officer has issued a new order on household visitors, which means householdsĀ cannot have more than six people of any age visit at one time.Ā The order applies to all gatheringsĀ ā€“ indoor and outdoor ā€“ hosted at households, such as a Halloween or large dinner party, celebration of life, wedding or baby shower.

I know these restrictions are challenging, but I urge everyone to look at alternate ways to celebrate Halloween and other events at this time.

Halloween guidelines are available here.

See additional details on the new PHO order.
