New wildfire reported 33 km south of Cranbrook

BC Wildfire Service is today attacking a wildfire 6.5 km west of Cherry Lake (33 km south of Cranbrook).

The fire discovered Oct. 2 is believed to be person-caused.

It is about 2.1 hectares in size.

The fire is located south of the Connell Ridge fire, considered under control at 1,719.2 ha and north of the Gilnockie Provincial Park, also under control at 248 ha.

There are no other new fires in the region.
