For those interested in visiting Lake O’Hara in Yoho National Park this summer, the random draw for day use bus service will be open from April 1 to 30, on the Parks Canada Reservation Service (PCRS).

Parks Canada introduced the random draw system to allocate reservations for the Lake O’Hara day-use bus in 2020 to help ensure all potential visitors have a fair chance at securing a seat.

Those interested in visiting Lake O’Hara can submit an application using the Parks Canada Reservation Service with a non-refundable application fee of $10.

Applications will be drawn at random and successful applicants will be notified in early May. Revenue generated from application fees will be reinvested into Lake O’Hara and Yoho National Park to help protect the environment and support high-quality visitor experiences.

Due to COVID-19, the capacity of the buses may be reduced to facilitate physical distancing and therefore the exact number of seats being released in early May will depend on provincial guidelines and mitigations. All COVID-19 provincial health advice will be followed including physical distancing for visitors waiting to load buses and while on buses, and the use of masks where required.
