Registration open for 2026 Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo
Registration is now open for the 2026 Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo, returning to Cranbrook on Saturday, September 12.
Organized by the Cranbrook Sunrise Rotary Club in partnership with JCI Kootenay, the event continues to grow as one of the Kootenays’ premier cycling experiences while raising funds for important community organizations, including the Kimberley/Cranbrook Hospice Society.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Kootenay Rockies, the Gran Fondo attracts riders from across British Columbia, Alberta, Montana, and beyond. The event offers cyclists a fully supported and traffic-controlled ride through some of the most scenic roads in the region, along with a welcoming atmosphere driven by local volunteers and community support.
For many years, the Cranbrook Sunrise Rotary Club has led the event, helping build the Fondo into a successful tourism and fundraising initiative that supports charitable programs throughout the East Kootenay.
In 2026, the event enters an exciting new chapter as JCI Kootenay joins as a partner in delivering the Fondo.
The partnership brings together Rotary’s long-standing commitment to community service with JCI Kootenay’s focus on leadership development and volunteer engagement.
Together, the organizations are committed to ensuring the Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo continues to grow as both a world-class cycling event and a meaningful fundraiser that benefits communities across the region.
Participants can expect an exceptional ride experience featuring professional traffic control, mechanical support, aid stations, rider amenities, and post-ride celebrations hosted at St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino near Cranbrook.
Over the years, riders have consistently praised the Fondo for its organization, safety, spectacular scenery, and friendly volunteers, helping establish the event as a must-ride cycling experience in Western Canada.
