Rolling into year eight with thanks

e-KNOW Editorial

By Ian Cobb

The current has been roiling so mightily lately that I have only now caught the time to note e-KNOW’s eighth birthday.

July 2011 seems a long time ago now. The older you get the faster the years go and all.

Used to have time to reflect on birthday arrivals and even hold parties. We’ve had some quality e-KNOW birthday parties, but not this year; at least not yet. So to the folks who pop by during our usual beginning of July party, you did not miss your invite!

Fact is; we’re busy. A lot is happening in the East Kootenay.

But it is high time we once again thank all our sponsors and contributors, who make e-KNOW go around.

With their help we’ve grown from zero readers to more than 23,000 subscribers; from no unique page visits to one million a month when the news is a-happening (as it is nowadays).

And I wish to thank our readers for checking in to get an idea what is happening in your hometown and those nearby. We hope we are providing quality need-to-know news and information, as well as interesting reads and diversions.

We continue to see the special symbiosis that exists among the communities in this region and the Kootenays, as we get to know more and more folks around this large and spectacular region.

So here’s a cheers to you!

I should also note that today is a year since Sheila Tutty decided that fighting cancer had become a pain in the arse and opted for angel school.

Sheila was a true newspaper person through and through. Exactly none like her left.

Betcha have a big sumnuvabitchin’ quilt going!

PS: Make sure you vote!

Ian
