Three facts you need to know
About local government funding

1. The Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development provides funding to local governments in a number of different ways including through Small Community and Regional District grants and Traffic Fine Revenue Sharing grants.
2. These grants provide almost $108 million to communities across British Columbia to meet local needs such as more policing, community safety initiatives, new equipment, infrastructure, and service delivery priorities.
3. The East Kootenay is receiving $1,858,395.00 this year from these annual grant programs in addition to other funding.
