Visitor numbers increasing a bit in Kootenay Rockies
As the tourism industry navigates recovery from the COVID-19 global pandemic, the British Columbia Regional Tourism Secretariat (BCRTS) continues to provide baseline research to support the industry as it moves forward.
BCRTS has produced a report outlining monthly visitor highlights for the Kootenay Rockies (KR) region up to April.
Baseline visitor analysis will help the tourism industry understand who is visiting our region so they can plan strategically how and what visitors to attract, BCRTS explained.
Key Findings:
- Canadian visitors travelling to KR – February 2023, saw a three per cent increase compared to 2020, a 51% increase compared to 2021 and a nine per cent increase compared to 2022.
- BC visitors travelling to KR – February 2023 saw a .1% increase compared to 2020, an 81% increase compared to 2021 and a nine per cent increase compared to 2022.
- Alberta visitors travelling to KR – February 2023 saw a one per cent increase compared to 2020, a 24% increase compared to 2021 and a 15% increase compared to 2022.
