The following is a synopsis of what occurred during the July 10 District of Elkford council meeting.

Traffic Control

Council authorized amending the Traffic and Streets Bylaw by introducing truck route regulations and restrictions to minimize truck traffic for vehicles greater than 5,500 kg in residential neighbourhoods. The district will also proceed with a Traffic Control Review in collaboration with the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC).

2017 National Western Region Mine Rescue Competition

One member of council will represent the district at the Awards Banquet for the competition that will be held September 9 in Fernie.
