Elkford reviewing cannabis store application
The District of Elkford has issued a public notice that council has received an application for a cannabis retail operation and is asking residents for input.
The application by The Source Dispensary Ltd. is for a non-medicinal cannabis retail store, which will do business as Elk Valley Cannabis.
This business will be governed by the Provincial Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch and District of Elkford bylaws.
The operation will not be used for cultivation of cannabis, the district reported.
In accordance with the District Zoning Bylaw, cannabis retail is a permitted use within the C-1 and C-2 zones, and;
- Shall be conducted entirely within an enclosed building;
- Shall not involve exterior storage;
- Shall not have signage or advertising visible from the outside depicting a cannabis or marihuana leaf or leaves.
