Envision Elkford workshops today and tomorrow

The District of Elkford is looking to re-envision the downtown core to service the community’s existing population.

This plan will reflect the community’s Wild at Heart brand, which celebrates Elkford’s substantial natural amenities, including stunning vistas of rugged peaks, greenspace, trails, lakes, rivers and waterfalls.

The plan will aim to create a vibrant and human-scaled downtown that serves community members of all ages and abilities, is attractive to development and entices visitors—who happen to find themselves at the “start of the road”—to stop, shop, and relax downtown.

Two community workshops are planned for this evening and tomorrow afternoon.

Today (Oct. 14), from 4 to 8 p.m. in Teck Hall, is a community workshop. Attend via Zoom.

And tomorrow, Oct. 15 from 2 to 6 p.m. is a walking tour and workshop, starting at Teck Hall and going to Porcupine Park on Boivin Road (the greenspace across from Kapp’s Pizza Place).

Bad weather backup location: Teck Hall at 750 Fording Drive.
