Ember Stomp returns to Jaffray May 1
The East Kootenay FireSmart Program invites you to join us for our third annual Ember Stomp, a Wildfire Community Preparedness Event, at the Jaffray Community Hall (7369 Jaffray Village Loop Rd) on May 1 from 12 to 7 p.m.
Learn how to make your home and community more resilient to wildfire, check out wildland firefighting apparatus, an educational presentation on Restoring Nature’s Balance: an overview of the Rocky Mountain Trench Ecosystem Restoration Program at 1 p.m., a live fire demonstration at 2 p.m. from the Elk Valley and South Country Rural Fire & Rescue Service (sponsored by Fernie Home Hardware Building Centre), and games for the kids.
