Expect construction on Highway 3 in the valley
Regular travellers already know it but for those coming into or leaving the province, expect construction delays on Highway 3 in the Elk Valley this summer between June 15 and August 15.
Okanagan Aggregates Ltd. (OAL) is now undertaking Ministry of Transportation & Transit Project No. 26764-0000 (Asphalt Surfacing Elko to Fernie Intermittent Resurfacing).
The work is full width conventional asphalt milling, resurfacing two segments on Highway 3 from Kikomun Road to the railway overpass in Elko and from Fernie Ski Hill Road to the Elk River Bridge.
Work will be between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday. No work will be performed on roadways during the long weekends.
OAL will utilize single-lane alternating traffic. Traffic delays are expected to be minimal.
OAL will accommodate the passage of Emergency vehicles through the work site as safely and expediently as possible.
