Technical Safety BC announced today it is going to present its Investigation Report into the fatal ammonia release at Fernie Memorial Arena on October 17, 2017 tomorrow, Wednesday, July 25.

The report will provide an overview of the incident, the scope of the investigation, and key findings regarding contributing factors, as well as recommendations to prevent similar incidents from happening again.

The ammonia leak claimed the lives of three men: Wayne Allan Hornquist, 59; Lloyd Stewart Smith, 52, both of Fernie; and Jason Donovan Podloski, 46, of Turner Valley, Alberta.

The report will be issued prior to a media update being held in Technical Safety BC’s downtown Vancouver offices tomorrow morning.
