FDAC provides operational update

With Phase 2 of British Columbia’s re-opening plan beginning this week, the Fernie & District Arts Council (FDAC) wished to update you on our operations.

While The Arts Station building (pictured) is shut and will remain so for the time being, we as an organization are still very much in operation, and are committed to our mandate to provide arts and cultural opportunities for Fernie and beyond.

We are currently reviewing the BC reopen strategy and guidelines working through options for service delivery over the next few months and the reopen of our facility.

Our summer programming will not be able to proceed as originally planned, which includes the Wednesday Socials.

We know you will join us in our disappointment, however, in the meantime we are excited to explore new opportunities that will meet the government requirements.

Our priority remains to ensure the safety of all staff, members and participants. With so many moving parts to our building operations it will take us some time to find an approach that is in the best interests of all before we can reopen. Staff are currently reaching out to stakeholders to work together on that plan. FDAC will continue to update you as we move through this next stage.

Thank you for the continued support and we look forward to seeing you all again soon. Please continue to engage via our online platforms available through theartsstation.com and do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.
