The Fernie Aquatic Centre will be closed from November 1 to 16 to host the Elk Valley Dolphins Annual Fall Swim Meet (November 1 3) and to complete required maintenance on Motor Control Centre (November 4 to 16).

The Motor Control Centre (MCC) is an assembly designed to control multiple electrical motors for the main pool, leisure pool, hot tub, water slide, and spray toys. This MCC replacement has been on the five-year capital plan for numerous years. We know this equipment is at the end of its life and is now time to replace it in its entirety.

The two-week shutdown is scheduled to ensure the MCC is replaced efficiently without causing too great an impact on Fernie Aquatic Centre programming. We appreciate facility users understanding and are excited to ensure future enjoyment of our facility.
