Fernie Aquatic Centre closing until July 28
The Fernie Aquatic Centre will be closed from July 20 to July 28 for its annual maintenance shutdown.
The summer shutdown is an important opportunity for staff to complete facility maintenance and deep cleaning.
This year’s shutdown will be only one week (significantly shorter than usual!) and our maintenance team will be busy during that time grouting the pool, deep cleaning the facility, windows and lockers and getting things in tip-top shape for the July 29 re-opening.
We’ll also use this time to continue work on the waterslide- painting and prepping the steel work in preparation for the next stages of the repair project.
The Splash Park on Aquatic Centre grounds will remain open during the shutdown for anyone looking to cool off!
