Fernie Arena to shut temporarily for repairs
The City of Fernie has awarded the contract for the roof truss work at the Fernie Memorial Arena. In order to complete work the arena will have to be closed down temporarily.
“The shutdown will begin on November 4 and we anticipate completion in four weeks, with a projected re-opening date of December 1,” the city reported on its website today.
The Fernie Ghostriders have four Kootenay International Junior Hockey League home games during that period. The club played in Sparwood last year following the arena tragedy.
