Fernie Friends of Opera is presenting Gaetano Donizetti’s Anna Bolena on Monday, March 4 at The Arts Station.

In Donizetti’s opera, the story of Ann Boleyn develops like a Greek tragedy where there is no possible escape from the trap that will close on Ann and her fate has been decided.

Superstar Netrebko displays all her vocal skill and dramatic talent as Ann, Elina Garanca gives a superb and subtle interpretation of the role of Jane Seymour, and D’Arcangelo is a suitably evil Henry. This production from Vienna relies on minimalist sets and sumptuous costumes to tell this most compelling and tragic story.

Admission by donation and show time is 7 p.m.
