Fernie SAR rescue injured biker

On Saturday, Sept. 24, Fernie Search and Rescue (SAR) was called out to assist an injured biker on Eric’s Trip trail located adjacent to the Mt. Fernie Provincial Park.

The biker, a 46-year-old woman, sustained hip fractures when she landed awkwardly after riding over a man-made structure (jump).

The Fernie SAR team reported on its Facebook page that members accessed the injured woman from the lower reaches of the trail, stabilized her on a clam shell and a wheeled stretcher. Ropes and manpower were used to bring her down to the waiting BC Ambulance team.

The Fernie SAR team wished her a speedy recovery.

Thanks to everyone involved for a job well done.
