Ben Skarsen of the Fernie Ghostriders has committed to play for the Portage College Voyageurs in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference next fall.

The Ghostriders captain led the team with 21 goals and 40 points in 44 games. He added five goals and six points in 11 playoff games.

The 21-year-old Bonnyville, Alta., native played in 116 regular season games and registered 47 goals and 112 points for the Ghostriders. In 36 career playoff games, the 5-10, 174-pound forward had 13 goals and 20 points.

Skarsen is the first Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) player recruited by the Voyageurs this spring and they had nine KIJHL alumni on their roster this past season.
