New electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at City Hall and the Visitor Information Centre (VIC) are now up and running and ready for use, the City of Fernie reported.

As part of the grant-funded ‘Journey to Iconic Fernie’ project, four Level 2 charging stations were installed at the VIC, and five at City Hall.

The Flo Network Level 2 charging stations provide up to 30 km of range per hour of charging and are compatible with all electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle models.

Funding for this work was provided by the Province of British Columbia under the Tourism Dependent Community Fund.
