Saturday, May 18 saw the grand reopening of the newly renovated Legion Branch No. 36 venue in Fernie. The building was packed to capacity as the ribbon was cut to celebrate the renovation.

Legion president Jeannie Watson presented $10,000 to several local charities including to Linda Cryderman accepting on behalf of the local Red Cross equipment loan unit at Elk Valley Hospital.
