The City of Fernie has posted a notice about a road closure that began today, Monday, August 18.

Starting today, 7th Street is closed from 2nd Avenue to 3rd Avenue as part of the Elk Valley Family Society’s Mixed-Use redevelopment project.

Contractors require the temporary road closure to relocate a hydrant and connect utilities to the site.

The road closure is expected to last approximately two weeks. During this time traffic will be detoured through 6th St. and 8th St.

Please keep in mind that the partial 3rd Ave. closure will still be in place for the duration of the project.
