SAR rescue injured mountain biker

At approximately 10 a.m. today Fernie Search and Rescue (SAR) was tasked by BC Ambulance (BCAS) to respond to a 62-year-old male mountain biker who took a fall while descending Eric’s Trail in the Ridgemount Trails area, fracturing his right ankle.

BCAS was able to walk to the injured subject and stabilize the injury prior to SAR arriving with a wheeled stretcher.

He was packaged and quickly transported down the trail to the waiting BCAS unit.
