The City of Fernie wants to offer opportunities to honour friends and loved ones or celebrate special events through the donation of public park amenities.

“As a beautification initiative the city has introduced a program to enhance our parks and green spaces with amenities that can pay tribute to individuals, groups, or projects that mark achievement and celebrate life.  Donors have many options to choose from including bike racks, picnic tables, benches and more,” the city’s website explains.

“The Tribute Program provides a meaningful way for families to celebrate major achievements and contributions! Working together we grow and create a better community!”

Donations for Standard Amenities may include, but are not limited to: new benches; adoption of existing park benches that is appropriate for donation; picnic tables; and bike racks.
