Speed puts everyone on the road at risk.

Residents and visitors to the Elk Valley are reminded to obey the posted speed limit.

On September 5, an Elk Valley RCMP officer was conducting patrols and stopped a driver going 185 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

The 35-year-old driver was issued an excessive speed ticket and had their vehicle impounded for seven days.

Elk Valley RCMP are committed to public safety and we are actively patrolling our streets and highways.
