Genealogy workshop Oct. 5 at Sparwood Public Library
Sparwood Public Library will be hosting a workshop on October 5 designed to teach anyone interested in genealogy how to transform their personal histories into stories that will hook a wide audience.
The workshop is being sponsored by the Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance and is being led by Kootenay journalist and author Vanessa Farnsworth, whose historical novel The Haweaters depicts the 19th century murders of two members of her family on northern Ontario’s Manitoulin Island.
The Haweaters was shortlisted for the 2021 Fred Kerner Book Award.
Admission to the 7 p.m. workshop is free, but participants are required to sign up in advance.
Current public health protocols will be in effect.
