Sparwood Council Facts
The following is a synopsis of what occurred during the August 1 District of Sparwood council meeting.
DELEGATION
Sparwood Search and Rescue
Lauren Boudreau and Andrea Murland provided council with an update on the Sparwood Search and Rescue 2023 Operations and forecasted 2024 activities.
BYLAWS
Officers and Officials Bylaw
The Officers and Officials Bylaw was given it’s first three readings by council. It was brought forward to add more clarity to provisions to ensure payroll compliance, to formalize current work practices and to support staff retention and recruitment. This bylaw will be brought forward to a future meeting for adoption.
BUSINESS
Elk Valley Seniors Housing Society (EVHS)
The EVHS sent their Annual General Meeting notice to council and requested they consider their representation on the board. Council will continue with current representatives. The Annual General Meeting will take place on August 30.
UPCOMING DISTRICT COUNCIL MEETINGS
Regular Meeting Tuesday, August 15 in Council Chambers (136 Spruce Avenue) at 6 p.m.
