Temporary traffic closure east of Elko Jan. 10
Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting this evening issued an advisory of a full closure of up to one hour on Highway 3, at 4.5km east of Elko Monday, January 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The closure is for the safety to the motoring public while there is blasting for rock material to be used for repair flood sites in the Elk Valley.
A full highway closure will be in effect for approximately one hour.
“There will be 15-minute closures with a single lane alternating traffic pattern following the main closure until 5 p.m. Access will remain for emergency vehicles,” Mainroad noted.
