Two-hour closure planned for Highway 3 near Elko
Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting today issued an alert about an upcoming two-hour closure of Highway 3 east of Elko on Tuesday, Feb. 8.
Motorists can expect a two-hour full closure 4.5-km east of Elko on February 8, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
In addition to the main closure, expect periodic 20-minute closures and single lane alternating traffic from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to accommodate equipment on the highway.
Please obey all signage and traffic control personnel.
The closure is for public safety due to blasting for material to repair damages following flooding earlier this year near Fernie.
Work is weather dependent.
