City increasing social distancing

The City of Kimberley this morning (March 16) provided an update surrounding the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic.

As you are all aware, the situation across Canada regarding COVID-19 is changing very rapidly. The City of Kimberley is working hard to ensure the safety of its employees and residents.

Following recommendations of the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) and the Ministry of Health, we aim to increase social distancing in Kimberley, the city stated this morning (March 16) in an update to residents.

As of today, the Kimberley Aquatic Centre has suspended all programming including lessons, aquafit classes and spring break camps. The steam room and hot tub are also closed.

The pool remains open for swimming at this time.

The swim schedule can be found HERE – follow the link to Aquatic Centre.

The city stated it will keep the public informed with further developments as they become available.

While City Hall remains open, officials ask if you are experiencing symptoms of flu or infection to refrain from visiting the building.

Please call 250-427-5311 or email [email protected] and staff will assist you.
