Dynamiters sweep KIJHL Stars of the Week
The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) is pleased to announce its Stars of the Week for the period ending April 21.
Forward – Toren Fron – Kimberley Dynamiters
The Edson, Alta., native made an impact on the opening two games of the KIJHL Championship Final against the Princeton Posse with a goal and two assists. He set up the winner in Game 1, then secured the game with an empty net goal, making it a 3-1 final. In Game 2, he collected an assist on their first goal. Fron was +3 and played an average of 15:52 a game.
Defenceman – Callan Valstar – Kimberley Dynamiters
The Calgary native had a goal and an assist, while playing an average of 21:30 in the opening two games of the KIJHL Championship Final against the Posse. In Game 1, he started the play to set up the winner, then in Game 2 he scored the 1-1 goal 2:30 into the game.
Goalie – Adam Kisilevich – Kimberley Dynamiters
The Edmonton native was a key factor in the Dynamiters taking a 2-0 series lead in the KIJHL Championship Final against the Posse. The 6-1, 170-pound goalie made 54 saves on 56 shots for a .964 save percentage and a 1.00 goals against average. In Game 2, Kisilevich made 30 saves and had an excellent .968 SP. It’s the third straight week that Kisilevich has been selected for Stars of the Week.
