Healthy Kimberley Community Challenge weekly winner

Congratulations to our first weekly winner in the Healthy Kimberley Community Challenge!

Kathy Clarke pledged to include outdoor activity as part of her day to day routine and wins a fruit and vegetable basket courtesy of Kimberley Centex Market and $50 cash.

All residents of KimberleyĀ areĀ challenged to makeĀ and share their healthy changes/choices based on the ‘Live 5-2-1-0’ messaging and earn a chance to win big prizes,Ā including $500 cash. Ā Healthy Kimberley isĀ a projectĀ of theĀ East Kootenay Division of Family Practiceā€™sĀ ā€˜A GP For Meā€™ initiative.

Participants are encouraged to eat at least five fruits and vegetables per day, limit ā€˜screen timeā€™ to a maximum of two hours per day, increase physical activity to at least one hour per day, and to drink fewer sugar sweetened beverages, choosing water instead.

Challenge yourself, your family, your friends and colleagues! You can submit photos, short updates, poems, stories, videos, etc. by e-mail, Facebook, or submissions dropped off at the Kimberley Medical Clinic.
