KHCA donates more than $101k to EKFH

The Kimberley Health Care Auxiliary (KHCA), an organization with more than 120 dedicated, hard-working volunteers, operates two thrift shops, one in Kimberley and one in Marysville.

They also run the loan cupboard out of the Kimberley Health Care Centre which loans out medical equipment such as walkers and wheelchairs.

The KHCA recently donated a whopping $101,102 to the East Kootenay Foundation for Health (EKFH). Of that, $26,102 went towards purchasing a LifePak Defibrillator for the Kimberley Health Care Centre and $75,000 went toward the SPECT CT Campaign. Both pieces of equipment have the potential to save lives!

The Kimberley Health Care Auxiliary is one of the largest supporters of the EKFH. They have donated over $515,000 to support health care at the Kimberley Health Care Centre and the East Kootenay Regional Hospital. Whenever there is a need, the KHCA is always willing to step up and assist in the fundraising efforts of the EKFH.

The last donation of $75,000 pushed the SPECT CT Campaign up over the $1 million mark! This brought the EKFH so much closer to its goal of $1.2 million for the SPECT CT.

The East Kootenay Foundation for Health extends its heartfelt gratitude to all the KHCA volunteers for being champions of health care! They would also like to thank the community for supporting the Auxiliary with much needed donations and by shopping at the Thrift Stores. The Foundation could not accomplish its goals without amazing donors like the KHCA.

If you are looking for a great opportunity to give back, the KHCA is always looking for help. They can be reached by calling 250-427-4043.
