Kimberley Chamber gives update on VIC Centre
On Friday, March 27, the Kimberley & District Chamber of Commerce hosted a community engagement session to discuss the future of the VIC Centre.
Thank you to everyone who attended, and a special thanks to Centre 64 for the space, Healthy Kimberley for the snacks, and Stoke Market for the coffee.
While no formal decision has been made regarding the Chamber operating the VIC, we want to share the next steps for those who couldn’t attend:
We’re working behind the scenes on funding opportunities and understanding the support available.
Conversations are ongoing with news outlets and community partners to ensure this aligns with the interests of our members.
Planning to transition out of our current rental and back into the VIC building, which will need some updates after 20 years without major renovations.
We’ll receive the keys on May 1 and hope to begin refreshing the space shortly after.
Preparing our $82K Investment Readiness & Attraction Study to explore economic development opportunities for Kimberley’s future.
A Kimberley & Area Business Chamber Survey is in the works, which will include questions for the business community to help guide the VIC’s future.
Please note: Bathrooms in the VIC will remain open to the public throughout this process
This is an exciting time, and we appreciate the continued engagement and input from our community as we explore the best path forward for the VIC Centre.
