Kimberley’s first Backcountry Film Festival Dec. 2

Kimberley local non-profit groups, KORE Outdoors and Wildsight, are coming together to host Kimberley’s first ever, Backcountry Film Festival!

“It is time! As the snow flies! We wanted to celebrate winter! Immerse yourself in a night of films that capture the spirit of winter. Adventure, environment, climate, youth outdoors, ski culture – you will find it all in this award-winning film series,” said Matt Mosteller, board chair of non-profit, KORE Outdoors.

The Backcountry Film Festival is a year-round, community program presented by Winter Wildlands Alliance that celebrates human-powered, backcountry-inspired stories rooted in wild snowscapes, stewardship and stoke.

The 18th annual Backcountry Film Festival will be screening a collage of short documentaries and ski movies about the pursuit of objectives and ideals in the mountains, artistic vision, friendship, and how the snow sports community is adapting to a changing environment.

“We chose this series as it shares our shared values of all the partners involved in making the Backcountry Film Festival possible, Mountain Culture, Community driven, Outdoor Education and Conservation efforts,” added Mosteller.

Let’s get social on Friday, December, 2.  Join us for a craft beer from Grist and Mash, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and movies will start to roll around 6:30pm and ending around 10:15pm

Don’t miss it. One night only – doors open at 5:30 p.m. at Centre 64. Tickets on-sale now (please note that will only be sold on-line and in advance – we apologize if this causes any inconvenience).

All proceeds after covering film and venue cost will go to Wildsight.

Featured speaker – Eddie Petryshen, will give a quick update on what Wildsight has been up to and share his stroke for backcountry skiing and riding!

This would not be possible without key individuals who are assisting, Pat Bates, Brad Hartshorn and the amazing local supporters – Wildsight, Eddie Petryshen, Robyn Duncan, Grist and Mash, Tourism Kimberley, Centre64, and we are grateful for support to share these amazing films, from Wildlands Alliance.

Get your tickets now – please note no tickets will be sold at the door so purchase in advance
