Nitros up two games heading to Beaver Valley

The Kimberley Dynamiters are two wins away from returning to the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) finals.

The nitros opened their semi-final series with two home victories over the Beaver Valley Nitehawks March 17 and 18.

In game one at the Kimberley Civic Centre, Tristan Weill scored the winner in the second period with his third goal, while Trystan Self stopped 28 shots in a Dynamiters 4-2 win over the Nitehawks.

In game two, Weill opened the scoring with his fourth goal seven minutes into the first period, then set up Jayden Kostiuk for the eventual winner in the first, as the Dynamiters defeated the Nitehawks 5-1.

Games three and four of the series are this evening, Tuesday, March 21 and Wednesday, March 22 in Beaver Valley. Both games begin 7 p.m. Pacific.

Game five, if necessary, will be Friday, March 24 in Kimberley (7 p.m. start) and game six, if necessary will be back in Beaver Valley on Saturday, March 25.
