Feeding Deer

The City of Kimberley’s Bylaw Officer has been receiving several complaints of residents feeding deer in residential neighbourhoods. Did you know this is in contravention of the City of Kimberley Deer Feeding Bylaw No. 2296, 2006? Fines up to $500 can be issued to anyone caught feeding deer. To report someone feeding the deer, please call our Bylaw Officer at 250-427-6460 or email [email protected].

The Scoop about Pet Waste

If you are disposing of pet waste, please remember to place it in securely tied, double plastic bags (i.e. pet waste bags or shopping bags) before putting it in the larger bag contained inside your garbage bin. This will help ensure the safety of our Solid Waste Collection Operators and is a requirement pursuant to section 5.3 of the City of Kimberley Solid Waste Regulations & Rates Bylaw No. 2520.

Preventing Melt Water Damage

Spring is around the corner and the snow is melting fast.  To prevent damage from melt water, homeowners are encouraged to take action to protect their own property.  Plan how to divert melt water away from buildings and keep that path clear. Sandbags can help direct water if needed. Residents with a valid street occupancy permit (no fee) are encouraged to dump snow at the municipal snow dump to reduce the risk of melt water damage. City crews will only be addressing melt water concerns on city property.

Pothole Reporting

City crews fix potholes on a regular basis, fitting the work in between other duties. You can help by reporting potholes so we can add them to our list.  Be sure to take note of the street address or crossroads nearest the pothole and report it to the Operations Department by emailing [email protected] or by calling 250-427-9660.

Civic Centre Spring Ice Times

The Civic Centre will be open until Sunday, April 8. Please call the Operations Desk at 250-427-9660 to book your spring ice times!

Annual Maintenance Shutdown

A reminder to residents that the Aquatic Centre will be closed for maintenance shut down from April 2 to 23. If you have questions or would like to register for lessons or programs, please call 250-427-2983 and leave a message. Staff from the Aquatic Centre will return your call as soon as possible. You can view a complete listing of upcoming programming and events on the city’s website at www.kimberley.ca.
